Route: The parade will start at the East parking lot of First Baptist Church at Broadway, participants are urged to enter through Avenue V. The route will begin off Avenue U, to Broadway, heading East down Broadway, and then Avenue M to the Civic Center Parking lot.

By completing this application, the undersigned, Individually and on behalf of any organization represented thereby (referred to collectively as “Applicant”), agrees to indemnify, save and hold harmless Los Hermanos Familia organizers of the Veteran's Parade of Lubbock, Latino Lubbock Magazine, and any Sponsor of said event, as well as any officer, director, employee, representative or agent of Los Hermanos Familia, or any Sponsor of said event, from and against any and all suits, actions, losses, damages, causes of action and claims of liability of any character, type or description, including, but not limited to, expenses of litigation, court costs, attorney’s fees, and/or expert witness fees for any death or injury (real or alleged) to any person, organization or property, arising out of or occasioned by, directly or indirectly, any act or omission of Applicant and/ or its officers, directors, employees, representatives. Participants and agents related to or affecting Applicant’s participation in Veteran's Parade of Lubbock and/or any other activity or matter contemplated by this application and this Indemnity Agreement. The undersigned warrants that he/she has full authority to bind the Applicant and understands that Los Hermanos Familia is relying on such representation as a prerequisite to the consideration of this application.

Further, I commit to following the Cinco de Mayo PARADE REQUIREMENTS as follows:
****ALL PARADE ENTRIES MUST designate TWO PEOPLE (parade marshals) to walk in front of your entry to ensure traffic is clear. ****
POLITICAL - ONE CANDIDATE/ONE FLOAT The parade will not be used as a platform for special interests. Entries of a controversial nature will not be allowed. No literature or handouts will be allowed. Political signs urging the election of any candidate for political office, or any initiative will be allowed to appear in the parade, including signs appearing on any person, float, automobile, or any moving or stationary structure which is part of the parade. No negative signs degrading opposing candidates, parties, or issues will be allowed. No parties on a candidate’s float unless that party itself has registered to promote their party, on their automotive or float. Parade officials will inspect all entries and reserve the right to eliminate any entry that is in violation.
ALL PARADE ENTRIES MUST BE FULLY & APPROPRIATELY DECORATED OR THE ENTRY WILL BE SUBJECT TO EXCLUSION FROM THE PARADE WITH NO REIMBURSEMENT/REFUND. All entries must conform to community standards of taste and decorum.
•To avoid the possibility of injury to Participants and attendants, Participants must be cautious when throwing candy or other items from any float or vehicle in the parade. Please do not toss it into the crowd. Rather, people should encourage handing out candy and walking next to the barricade line may distribute candy and other items. Nothing may be handed out in the path of your entry only on the sides of your entry (Entries that refuse to cooperate will be banned from future events).
•Animals participating in the parade must be harnessed or leashed. Owners must provide insurance and proof of liability for animals with their application and must have proof available on the day of the event.
•All parade entries must be appropriately decorated for the Cinco de Mayo/parade theme All entries must conform to community standards of taste and decorum.
Please, bring a trash bag and collect trash or decorating debris around your float, and please dispose of it appropriately.
If possible, please arrange a carpool and drop off extra cars at the Civic Center and then return to the east First Baptist parking lot to begin the parade by 9:45 a.m., the parade begins at 10 a.m. sharp.

There are no bathrooms, however, there are area businesses that allow the use of facilities if you make a purchase.
