By completing this application, the undersigned, individually and on behalf of any organization represented thereby (referred to collectively as the “Applicant”), acknowledges and voluntarily assumes the risks associated with participation in the Veterans Day Parade of Lubbock. The Applicant agrees to release, indemnify, defend, save and hold harmless Los Hermanos Familia and Military Order of the Purple Heart Chapter 0900, organizers of the Veterans Day Parade of Lubbock; all event sponsors; and their respective officers, directors, employees, volunteers, representatives and agents from and against any and all claims, suits, actions, losses, damages, liabilities, costs or expenses, including reasonable attorney’s fees and court costs, arising out of or related to the Applicant’s participation in the Veterans Day Parade of Lubbock, including the acts or omissions of the Applicant and/or its officers, directors, employees, representatives, participants, volunteers and agents, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
The undersigned warrants that they have full authority to bind the Applicant and acknowledges that acceptance of these terms is a condition of participation in the Veterans Day Parade of Lubbock.
The Applicant further agrees to comply with the following Veterans Day Parade requirements:
• Entry Appearance: All parade entries must be fully and appropriately decorated. Entries that do not meet this requirement may be excluded from the parade. All entries must conform to community standards of taste and decorum.
• Political Entries and Signage: For the 2026 Veterans Day Parade of Lubbock, political organizations and candidates are subject to a $100 participation fee. Political or campaign signage is not permitted under nonpolitical registration categories. Entries displaying political or campaign signage must register under the Political Campaign Floats category and pay the applicable fee.
• Distribution of Candy and Other Items: For the safety of participants and spectators, candy or other items may not be thrown from floats or vehicles. Participants may walk alongside their entry and hand items directly to spectators near the barricade line. Nothing may be distributed within the path of parade entries. Failure to follow this requirement may result in removal from the parade and/or exclusion from future events.
• Animals: All animals participating in the parade must be properly harnessed or leashed. Owners must provide proof of liability insurance for participating animals with their application and have documentation available on the day of the event.
• Safety and Event Instructions: All participants must follow instructions provided by parade organizers, law enforcement, event officials and volunteers. Parade organizers reserve the right to modify lineup procedures, the parade route or other event operations as necessary for safety, traffic control, construction or other circumstances.
• Weather Policy: The Veterans Day Parade is a rain-or-shine event. If severe weather or other safety concerns arise, the parade may be delayed, modified or canceled at the discretion of the organizers. Any applicable registration fees are nonrefundable in the event of a weather-related change or cancellation.
